Hi guys,
As Version 2 gets rather near completion, I thought I'd bring up a few
things to consider.
- The name issue. Grey Lotus, while familiar, doesn't really fit the
setting/design of the game. That's my bad, of course, but any
suggestions for a change would be cool. Something that doesn't sound
too stupid, I guess... nothing like 'War against the Kurr'd-ah' or
anything. It worked for Chtorr, but still...
- I have some new Combat rules that will require some fiddling with
the equipment section, and may open up some room for new Techniques.
Dodge and Block will be more useful once these are finished, but it
shouldn't affect characters too much.
- About multiple opponents... currently, you get 2 parries a turn,
meaning even against two people of a skill near your own, you can do
well. Some thoughts about this: Do we even WANT it fixed, for one?
If it is fixed, should I just give a penalty for fighting multiple
opponent, a-la flanking in D&D, or should I reduce the parries per turn
to 1 by default, without Techniques? One of the new combat rules lets
you sacrifice a die for an extra passive parry, so this wouldn't
necessarily cripple anyone.
- I'm thinking high strength might now be powerful ENOUGH right now.
Currently, spending a load of points on Strength will let you do a
measly 1 point of extra damage per hit, and possibly allow you to wear
heavier armor without penalties. Is that enough? Endurance is a
lifesaver, Dex and Reflexes are obviously important, and your various
mental skills get used by Magic and other skills...
Well, that's what's on my mind right now. Any thoughts?
