As you may have noticed, I'm fiddling with a new design for the web page. As I write this, it's mostly finished and operational, but I still need to clean up a few things, add a FAQ page, and then I'll need to make a new style for the Forums so they aren't badly mismatched with the page. Let me know what you think.
Lots of tweaks to the main rulebook, but the biggest addition is the compilation of tables in Appendix B is now correct, though a little sloppy. I'd like to add two more things, plus a few minor tweaks, before considering the rulebook complete. Though more Spells and creatures may be added later. The two big new things to add are an example of combat, and an index.
Working on the finishing touches of the main rulebook, but haven't been doing much. Need some fire under me to get me hopping. I've added some Discussion Boards in an attempt to do this!
Lots and lots of minor fixes and point adjustments this time, but also some
new content. Like a new Advantage, some clarifications, and such things. More
importantly, the Alchemy rules have been converted, BladeMagery has been started,
the new and much more interesting Siren's Voice rules are in the Magic book,
and best of all, the Psychomancy/Necromancy rules are done! Not all the powers
are listed yet, but those will follow soon after. Sorry it took so long to
get this stuff up, but I tired to make up for it with a big update.
Sorry for the delay. Most of this update was done a long time ago, and happily
I can shorten my Todo list. I've been working on another project recently,
and a redesign for the web page, so the updates to this game are coming slowly
but surely. Mostly this update fixes errors and adds a few minor things, like
a Technique or two.
The promised update is here. As said before, I'm tweaking the Techniques.
Added two new ones(Fancy Footwork and Masterful Forms), boosted magic a bit
and added some clarifications for healing and causing some types of damage,
boosted Gaia strength, and corrected some typos. Also, to show you some more
significant efforts, I've uploaded Chapter 3 of the Magic supplement. Phsychomancy(Soul
Magic) and Quickening are next to be detailed there. Oh, and I also already
did the revisions to the Sample Spells after changing the Magic stuff, so
they can still be used.
Sorry, no update to the source material right at this moment. I do have a
few changes on my computer to upload, but I expect a playtest session within
the next few days, so I will be waiting to see how that goes before I upload
the changes. A slight power boost to the magic power, a few tweaks to the
Techniques and a few new Techniques, power boost to Gaia and Fate Points,
and a number of other minor tweaks in the upcoming version. In addition, I'll
be finally uploading the source, and possibly the work I've done on converting
the Magic Supplement. Yes, I'm doing that too, and it's coming along pretty
quickly.
Late update, I know. Between the holidays and an illness, things were delayed,
but I think the wait should be worth it. Just about everything should be complete
now, though I still need to add some stuff to Running the Game. I also need
to convert all the tables in the back of the book, clean up the Techniques
section and add a few Techniques, do a quick check over the Skills section,
and a few other cleanups before I add one last big update. But right now everything
in the original book should be converted, including all the Sample Spells.
I have some more Sample Spells to add, but I'll do that after finishing the
final revision.
I suffered some burnout and wasn't quite able to finish as much as I would
have liked, but a semi-complete version is up now. Everything is finished
but some minor revisions in various places, and the Bestiary has only just
been started. Also, I think I'm going to need to add more to the Running the
Game section, as there are some things that should be covered there. I normally
wouldn't upload until I'd done these tweaks and started on the new Magic section,
but I'm headed out of town. Next update will probably be Monday.
Just a small update today. Uploaded a draft version of the Version 2 Character
sheet. Eventually I'll have custom sheets for warriors, mages, et cetera.
Whew! It's been a long time since that promised update... but correspondingly,
it's a pretty big one. Lots of revisions and fixes to Chapters 1-8, including
some major work in Equipment. I'm still working on the Signature Weapons,
but that's being done as I write this, so I expect to upload again at least
once this week. It should be a semi-complete version then, followed by a newer
one with a rewrite of the Magic system, and a new character sheet. LOTS of
work being done, finally.
Just some clean up and adjustments on the backend. Nothing new right now,
but shortly I'll be uploading the new rules for Combat, including the optional
Reach rules.
Okay, finally did an update... some slight changes to the Version 2 in the
previously finished sections, finished several chapters, etc. But I still
have a ways to go. See the List Archives for the specifics of what's been
done and what's left.
The list archives are back up, and everyone should be returned to the list
within minutes of this update. I'm working on the rulebook as I write this,
and should post a few times in the next two weeks, specifically the Combat,
Equipment, and some updated spells. Also expect some more stuff on Kurr'd-ah
shortly.
Yes, I know I haven't updated in forever. Sorry. My computer is back up,
and I have started work on the game again, but I haven't made any major updates
except removing the list archives temporarily, due to Spam troubles.
I'm exhausted. I've posted what consists of the Rulebook for Version 2, but
it's not CLOSE to being done and still has a lot of Version 1 stuff in it.
Don't try to use it, but it might be nice to look through.
The Techniques section is taking far longer to complete than I'd anticipated.
Regardless of whether it's finished or not, I'll be uploading a new version
this Saturday or Sunday (June 21-22) so everyone can take a look at the new
rules. It shouldn't be long after I finish the Techniques that the Rulebook
will be done, but who knows how long that will take.
No, I haven't put anything new up. I have almost everything converted, so
I should be posting a pretty much complete Version 2 Rulebook by the end of
the week. I haven't been feeling well, though, so who knows. Anyway, I'll
post the almost-complete version, then add the new material shortly afterward.
Still no new updates to the download section. However, I did run a playtest
game with the new rules, noting several problems to be corrected, and otherwise
getting things working. Obviously, my notes are playable, but I have some
boring work to do with tables and lists before I have anything to post.
No updates to the downloads. Skills have been done, but I haven't uploaded.
Working on the Styles and such, and hope to have a very rough playtest this
weekend. Things have been busy, as some of you may know.
Work on Version 2 continues. I haven't had as much time as I would have liked
to work on it, but on the other hand, things seem to be moving fairly swiftly.
I've posted a preliminary Chapter 3 for Version 2 in the Download section.
This is not complete, and definitely subject to revision. Notice that the
Armor values have changed, along with the movement notation, as part of the
change in system. Also, different Races no longer cost points, being balanced
by themselves. Skills are something which are still in flux, as I'm not certain
about keeping the cost divisions. The new rules posted are not for play, simply
to show that I have been working on this... though the bulk of the work has
yet to be posted.
Been a while... I have been working, but also had my attention on other projects.
In any case, I've posted an update to the Magic Supplement including several
additions, most notably the Alchemy Rules in Chapter 4. I've also posted the
first Chapter(Game Mechanics) of the Version 2 rules I am hard at work on.
I hope to have these in playtesting very shortly... as in, a week or two...
so the full rulebook for Version 2 should be up soon.
I'm ALIVE!! Whoohoo!! Anyways... I've thrown up the bare bones of the Magic
supplement. Sorry it took so long, but I've been busy. Now hurry to the download
section!!
Sorry for the delay... I have been working on the Magic supplement, as well
as starting work on Version 2.(not due out for a loooong time yet), plus noting
a few big mistakes. I'll put up an eratta and the rough outline of the Magic
supplement soon. We've started playing again, which gives me a lot more motivation
to work on this.
Version 1.0 Released. I'd like more, as I mentioned before, but this will
have to do for now. Expect an update sometime in the month after Origins,
but I will be taking a break for a while. Submissions might be merged, however.
LOTS of stuff done, including a map! Having issues with the DVI stuff that
I'm NOT happy with, so I removed them. See the mailing list archives for why.
The source is still available, for you purists out there. A large number of
Sample Spells done, fleshed out Chapter 9, finished up any descriptions left
hanging, and added a few creatures to the Bestiary. I'll be doing Equipment
descriptions and compiling tables in the next 2 days, and post the version
I'll be taking to Origins Tuesday. I'll add some more creatures if I have
time, but work is killing me this week, so don't hold your breath. I'm not
happy with what's going to Origins, but what author is? It's failry complete,
though, so we'll just have to see.
Finished the Skill Descriptions, and a lot of errors were corrected. Also
received my first submission, but have yet to merge them. Appear to be in
the home stretch.
As some of you may have noticed, I've added a mailing list and a link to
the list archives online. Feel free to sign up, it's not exactly high-traffic
at the moment. As for the game itself, I've finished all the Trade Skills.
I hope to get a lot done this weekend, but we'll see. Origins is coming up
fast, so I should get to work.
Well, mainly spelling and typo corrections, play balance corrections(many
Techniques now have a different cost or rules clarifications), and such. Added
a monster, and a skill or two, and the Healing section of Chapter 9. Also
set up the mailing list! So please subscribe, if you're interested in prodding
me into doing a section.
Thought I wasn't going to post for a few weeks, didn't you? Anyway... the
Campaign section is FINISHED! Well, I think so... PLEASE browse through it
and tell me if I'm missing anything. You've all been rather lax with feedback,
other than my friends, and I know more people than my friends have downloaded
this. I'm going to just assume it's perfect. Anyway, moving on to Bestiary
and Skills and Sample Spells. I hope to update fairly often this month, as
I'll certainly be working on it a lot.
Meant to get this up earlier, but had a graduation to go to. Fixed some typos
in Chapters 5 and 7, but all the real work was done in Chapter 10. Very nearly
finished with that chapter. I still need a map...
Thought I was dead, didn't you? Heh. Anyways, I had some things to take care
of, as many of you who know me well probably remember. But I'm back to working
on this. Minor rules change for Armek in Character Creation(Chapter 3), started
defining skills, and mostly more background on the world and such. I'm going
to have to work hard to get this finished before Origins.
Added some history stuff... lots of typing. Still waiting for the map to
be finished before I complete it, so no hurry.
Again, not a whole lot of content... largely because I've hit some personal
problems lately. However... I made some progress in the Campaign section,
and added a few creatures to the Bestiary. Writing up monsters is boring,
so I'll probably be adding more to the Campaign section in the coming days,
and add creatures as I feel like it. Also loosened up the license, as I thought
the revision was a little too strict.
Not a huge amount of content, but some major changes in some other ways.
The most obvious is the addition of individual chapters to the download page.
This way, when only one or two chapters are updated, the changes can be printed
seperately. As for the actual rulebook, I cleaned up a little by adding grey
highlights to some of the tables, making them more readable. While I was doing
this, I added some of the Taysen weaponry I forgot to put in earlier. Added
a few questions to the FAQ, and finally threw in a handful of sample spells.
I've been cleaning a lot lately, so I haven't gotten around to much else.
But work is underway now to add more to the Bestiary and Campaign chapters,
unless I get requests to the contrary.
Significant update. Finished Equipment lists, and some equipment descriptions.
If anyone wants to add something, or write a description, feel free to send
it in. I also put up some information on the Kurr'd-ah in the Campaign section,
redid the Skill Lists to a cleaner format, and started on the Bestiary. This
update is important because the game is now technically playable, although
I should probably put more in the Campaign section to make it worthwhile.
On that note, it looks like I will be less busy these next two weeks than
I was before, so I should make some progress.
Very small update this time. I got the PDF of the character sheet made, and
thought I should upload it ASAP. As for the rest... well, I got some of the
signature weapons done, but I'm still working on it.
Still pretty busy, so I haven't done as much with the rulebook as I'd like.
I did, however, get some weapons tables in there. I also prettied things up
a little, and added bookmarks, thumbnails, and hyperrefs to the PDF version.
I'm going to try doing a lot more work on Equipment over the weekend, but
I'm not making any promises.
I've been busy with some other matters, and will continue to be busy for
a few weeks. I'm still hopeful for an early April completion date for the
Rulebook, however. I played around with some tables to make things easier
on myself, and made several corrections and adjustments to the Equipment section.
It's taking longer than I thought it would, however. I also removed the LaTeX
sources, as I'm doing some restructuring that will make things easier in the
long run, but fairly annoying to download for now. Anyone who really wants
it can mail me, and I'll send you a copy of the absolute current version.
Fixed some problems with the HTML version of the Rulebook. Added some information
about money and Armor to the Equipment section, but nothing worth downloading
unless you didn't catch the March 3 edition. Speaking of dated editions, I
put a note on the download page stating the latest version. If the first page
of your version is the same, you don't need to download it again. Also moved
the game to the Open Publication License.
Made some design changes to the web page, posted a new version of the Rulebook(with
a complete Combat section) and an HTML Character Sheet. Also made the HTML
version of the rules more browser-friendly.
Posted a Word document of the character sheet. Working on a PDF version.
I hope to have the Combat chapter done by this weekend, then move on to Equipment.
Added an Experience chart, so people can advance now. Also wrote most of
the Combat chapter. Hopefully uploading a character sheet later, if I can
get my scanner hooked up.
Fighting Styles finished, a new look for the site. Uploaded new version of
Rulebook, and added sizes to the links.
Site constructed and registered. The Main Rulebook is half complete. Combat chapter half-written, Skill Descriptions unfinished, Styles not fully defined, Abilities still vague. Equipment, Running the Game, and the Bestiary are all blank. No Sample Spells yet.
